Where is the Hive Butler made?
The Hive Butler is an USA made product, manufactured in Ohio.
What size of frame does the Hive Butler accommodate?
The Hive Butler is designed to accommodate all 3 sizes of LANGSTROTH frames. It will also hold the Dadant Jumbo Frame, although the frame does touch the bottom of the tote, the lid will fit correctly. Hive Butler does NOT HOLD LAYENS FRAMES.
Will you ever make a medium / Layens size tote?
No, currently this is not feasible.
Should I use Para-moth for over winter storage?
NEVER! Simply freeze your frames for 24 hours then store them in the Hive Butler with a solid lid. The solid lid keeps all the moths out with no need for any chemicals!
What do I use to clean my Hive Butler with?
Regular Dawn dish detergent is fine. Nothing caustic like bleach.
When do I use the solid lid?
For honey harvest, honey storage and off season frame storage.
You use it during honey harvest to keep the bees from following the scent of honey.
Using the solid lid for off season frame storage keeps the moths out.
When do I use the vented lid?
The vented lid is used whenever live bees are inside of the tote.
